How is everyone? After having a week of eighty degree weather here in California, I am so ready for some autumn winds! I have been buying scarves and sweaters left and right but the sun does not want to leave just yet. I'm in total denial of it being practically summer and what makes it worse is seeing fellow bloggers on Instagram showing off their gorgeous fall outfits! It's not fair and I will whine like a baby if I have to! Mr. Frost's visit is well over due.
Instead of posting yesterday, I decided to take my time on the post and have it ready today(forgive me!). I got a brand new camera and I have been trying out all its new features which is really exciting! I'm still getting the hang of it so bear with me as I go through the learning process! Pictures should be greater quality but it's the focus that I need to improve on, any suggestions?
For today's makeup look and tutorial I decided to do a neutral smokey eye with a hint of glitter! I love this for days when I want to look extra fancy and it can be great for work if you switch out the glitter for a matte champagne color! I hope you enjoy it, any comments or requests can go in the comment section below. Let me know if you like these posts and I will continue to do these!
Love this picture but I should have darkened the eye-shadows more in order to really get the color! I have a light hand when it comes to makeup and try to make everything as natural as possible.
Tutorial:
Before anything, make sure to prime your eyes because it will make the biggest difference! Take the shadow "Naked" with a fluffy brush and swipe it back and forth on your crease, as if you were contouring your eye. Unfortunately I forgot to get a pic of this.
One way to make glitter shadows stand out is to use eye drops! Just a drop on your brush and it should stay on your lid all day long. Apply the shadow "Sidecar" all over your lid, making sure everything is covered.
With "Sidecar" still on your flat brush, take some "Hustle" and apply it on the outer 1/4 of your lid. Make it blend seamlessly by applying lightly. You can also bring it up to the crease a bit. This purplish shadow will make brown eyes stand out!
Take "Darkhorse" on a tapered fluffy brush and slowly start working it into the outer v of the eye focusing it in the crease as well. If you like dramatic makeup, you can stop at this step but I like blending it out and also bringing it down to my lash-line for definition.
Final shadow step is to take "Virgin" on another fluffy brush and dusting it on your inner eye corner and your brow bone for a beautiful highlight!
To finish, sweep on some eyeliner, curl and coat lashes with your favorite mascara and voila! If you enjoy a more dramatic look, try winging out your eyeliner.
